Lisa Faith Phillips’ new show All-Nude College-Girl Revue or How I Made It Through the LSE* (*London School of Economics) is at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival August 19-24, 2013.  In the lovely Space Cabaret @ 54 at The Carlton Hotel.

Drawing on her colorful past, Lisa takes the audience on a hilarious journey. From growing up in a test site for cable television, through her summer job as a stripper to pay for graduate school at the London School of Economics, to dancing in a Mick Jagger video and working as a voice on the Penthouse phone sex line to supplement her entry-level job in publishing to a night in jail and being sued for her comedy show, her stories are laugh-out-loud funny.

Filled with vivid characters, outrageous and poignant,  Lisa is “an incredible storyteller and her show is fascinating to watch and to listen to.” (DC Metro Theater ArtsAll-Nude College-Girl Revue or How I Made It Through the LSE* adds up to an evening of sophisticated, fun entertainment.

DC METRO THEATER ARTS says:

FIVE-STARS-82x15-1 Five Stars and Best of the Fringe!

Hilarious autobiographical one-woman show …the imagery is vivid, real and funny. The stage is decorated with nothing but her but this is enough…. Phillips is an incredible storyteller and her show is fascinating to watch and to listen to.

Jamie Lubin at the Huffington Post says:  “Wildly funny...

Phillips mixes absurdism and social satire to hilarious results.

Onstage Phillips is a force of nature and bubbly wit, confident in both body and brains. One would expect nothing less from a former stripper with a master's degree in economics. Yes, you read that right. It's mentioned briefly in Savvy Secrets as another of Dr. Faith's uproariously instructive anecdotes, but it's entirely true that Phillips spent time stripping to pay for graduate courses at the London School of Economics (by her own account, the experience was an education in itself). Her solo show The All-Nude College-Girl Revue, or How I made it through the LSE, which Phillips will perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this August, explores the topic in greater detail. Suffice it to say that as Dr. Faith she can still shake and shimmy with the best of them, look damn good doing it, and simultaneously dispense valuable wisdom such as “Keep the cow just keep the cow.”
